On Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at approximately 1:32 p.m., patrol officers responded to a report of an attempted kidnapping at Seven Eleven, 2611 Parkway Drive. The victim, a 14 year old female was fueling up her mother’s car while her mother paid inside. The suspect pulled up next to the 14 year old and told her to get in his car. The victim refused and the suspect told her again to get in his car and she refused a second time. The suspect then asked the victim if she “dated”. The victim nodded “no” with her head and went into the store to get her mother.
When the mother came outside, the suspect had driven away. She began finishing fueling her car when the suspect returned. He pulled up close to her car and fanned cash while he asked, “how much for your daughter”. The victim’s mother called him a “dirty old man” and let him know she was calling the police.
The suspect drove away eastbound in a white Pontiac passenger car.
Detectives gathered enough information to obtain an arrest warrant late Wednesday night. The warrant was served at the Lubbock County Jail where the suspect was already in custody on unrelated charges.
