Beau Baker was just arriving home from work when he heard a series of gunshots outside of his Brownfield home early Tuesday.

“I just got home and heard these gunshots. It was like four or five of them,” Baker said. “So I went inside and I saw these people walk arm-in-arm outside my house. Then I just saw this guy drop.”

The Brownfield Police Department said officers found two 19-year-old men with gunshot wounds: Evan Anderson and Jim Mojica.

“When officers arrived, we found Evan Anderson here at this location. Mr. Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene,” Chief Tony Serbantez, the Brownfield police chief, said.

Mojica was taken to University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Police are investigating the incident.

Anderson’s family and friends have set up a GoFundMe account.
