The second annual summer West End Farmer’s Market begins this Saturday. The West End has teamed up with the West Texas Growers and Producers Association once again to bring the community fresh produce and to show support for local farmers.

Natalia Lawson from West End said, “The weather in the summer really helps bring the community out and it’s just such a nice place here at the plaza to be able to offer that to the community.”

You may know the West End because of the outlets but there’s more to it.

Lawson explained,  “When West End was built it was with the intention to not only bring in stores and restaurants for the community but to also have this area that the community can enjoy events like the Farmer’s Market.”

This means you can both shop and support our local farmers and take home dinner as well.

Lucinda Mann, with West Texas Growers and Producers Association, told us, “It’s all fresh and locally grown from around our area, the West Texas area and we’re just here to help out the community.”

It’s not only fresh but they have it all.  If you can’t make it this weekend don’t worry, it will be every Saturday from 9 A.M. – 11 P.M.

Mann said, “Right now the season is just starting so we’ll start out with your greens, your lettuces, kales, spinach, we’ll have a lot of that this year. Strawberries are in season at the moment so we have several vendors who will have fresh strawberries out there. We’ve got honeys, meats, we’ve got grain fed beefs and grass fed beefs.”
