Texas Tech used a four-run fifth inning to battle from behind to beat New Mexico State 6-4 Tuesday at Security Bank Ballpark in Midland.
Michael Davis’ single to right field allowed Josh Jung to score the go-head run and the Red Raiders would tack on one more in the inning on an infield single by John McMillon.
Jacob Patterson came out of the bullpen to get the win. The junior left-handed reliever threw two scoreless innings and struck out five to pick up his fifth win of the season.
McMillon came into close the game out in the 9th inning. The freshman now leads the team with five saves on the season.
Texas Tech resumes Big 12 play against Oklahoma State. The series gets underway at 6:30 p.m. on Friday at Rip Griffin Park.
