Rebecca Torres just found out she’s going to the happiest place on earth, Disney World, courtesy of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. She’s a big fan of Disney’s “Frozen” and will soon get to meet Anna, Elsa, and Olaf.
Recently about a dozen people filled Reagor Dykes Automall in downtown Lubbock to surprise Torres with the news she’s going to Disney World.
“Because I never have been there [Disney World] I want to go there because I want to see Elsa and Anna,” said Torres.
Torres will soon need a kidney transplant. She’s been on dialysis for the last six months so this trip is something she’s been looking forward to.
“It’s brought a lot of happiness to her family, very excited. With her condition she can’t really do a lot of stuff you know. So this means a lot to not only her family but to Rebecca because it’s always been a dream of hers to go to Disney World,” said Margarita Torres, Rebecca’s mom.
She’ll get to eat ice cream whenever she wants, and this thrill seeker can’t wait to ride all the roller coasters.
“You know at the end of the day this is for her, she just wants whatever brings joy to her and her life,” said Margarita Torres.
