The CDC’s most recent survey found the human papillomavirus, or HPV, remains the most common sexually transmitted infection in the U.S. The report found 42-percent of adults aged 18 to 59 have genital HPV. Nearly 23-percent have the high risk strain that can cause cancer in both men and women.
Eating an unhealthy diet during pregnancy may damage the metabolism of both the mother and baby. A study at the University of Cambridge found a high fat, high sugar diet actually programs the body for potential health complications later in life. That can include a higher risk for type 2 diabetes, obesity, and heart disease.
Nearly a billion people around the world continue to smoke tobacco on a daily basis. A new report in The Lancet found significant declines in the rate of smoking over the past 25-years. But still, one out of every four men smoke every day as do one out of 20-women.
