The Lubbock Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened late Monday night.
According to police, they were called to the Villa Town Motel around 11:40 p.m. Monday. Police said there was a call of multiple shots being fired and six people were taken to the hospital. One more was hurt without having to stay hospitalized for a total of seven victims.
Police said, “As of this morning, six of the victims are still in the hospital. The injuries appear to be non-life threatening, however some of the injuries are serious.”
Police identified them as:
- Segundo Garcia Jr., 35
- Marissa Bengoa, 28
- Stephen Sasueda, 35
- Jacquelyn Aguillon, 31
- Israel Romo, 28
- John Ramirez, 38
- Manuel DeLeon, 35
Police said early on in their investigation, they believe a man was standing in the parking lot and fired some shots up toward a breezeway at the motel. Police said there were a number of people standing on that breezeway. That’s when they said the man drove off in a car. Police have not yet announced the arrest of a suspect.
