The big question for today is where will the dry line end up? That is going to determine where thunderstorms develop and where the strongest will be. Skies will become cloudy by day break. There are already showers in eastern New Mexico. These will spread east, along with a few thunderstorms. They will affect Lubbock after the morning rush hour, through 1:00 pm.

We’ll get a break from the storms, briefly. Then, skies will clear for Lubbock and west. The dry line will move east of Lubbock early this afternoon, taking the thunderstorms with it. We’ll get another round of storms this afternoon and evening in the Rolling Plains. The greatest threat for severe storms today will be in Cottle and King Counties. Can’t rule out hail with storms in Hall County, south to Scurry County. Storms move east from 10:00 pm-midnight and pick up in strength.
