A crash in Pecos County – 15 miles north of Fort Stockton – took the life of a 21-year-old woman according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. DPS on Tuesday released information about the crash which happened on Saturday afternoon.
DPS said Jorge A. Anaya-Barrera, 23, of Odessa, was driving a car south on Farm to Market Road 1776. The car left the roadway and rolled, according to DPS.
Aylin R. Castruita, 21, of Odessa was a passenger. DPS said she was taken to University Medical Center in Lubbock where she was pronounced dead.
A 2-year-old boy in the car was also taken to University Medical Center with “incapacitating injuries” DPS said.
The driver, Anaya-Berrera, was taken to Medical Center Hospital in Odessa also with “incapacitating injuries.”
A 5-year-old girl was taken to Pecos County Memorial Hospital for treatment. The 5-year-old was the only person listed by DPS as wearing a seat belt.
