Lubbock Police said a bicycle rider suffered critical injuries Monday just after 5:00 pm.
Police said the bicyclist was traveling through a parking lot in the 2700 block of 50th Street.
“The bicyclist exited the parking lot onto Boston Avenue and rode between two vehicles stopped in the northbound lane at a red light,” police said. “As he passed in between the two vehicles, he struck a car that had just turned south onto Boston Avenue.”
Police said no other injuries were reported, and no other vehicles were involved. The name was not yet released. The cyclist was identified only as a 53-year-old man.
