Severe weather season is upon us. That’s why a local company is stepping up to help keep your kiddos safe after a storm.
Lisa McKinnon said, “This idea was sent to me by a really good friend of mine who lives in a severe weather area and she told me that I need to do this for West Texas.”
Her idea is simple and affordable; Alert Tee’s. They are brightly colored t-shirts easily identifying children during an emergency.
She told us, “The color of the t-shirts was chosen because they are bright, they’re vivid and they can be seen from a long way away. The t-shirts, they come blank with the name contact and medical alerts and the parent can fill that information out however they want to. “
Parents can fill out the shirts with as little or as much information as they feel necessary.
McKinnon explained, “You can choose to put guardian, foster parent, whatever you want to put on there. The parent has the discretion of how much information they want to put on the shirt.”
The t-shirts not only reunite families but provide first responders with important health concerns.
She said, “The most important thing is at the bottom. It says medic alerts and allergies. Now we know that children have allergies and they have asthma and they’re allergic to penicillin and they’re allergic to peanuts. This information is vital to their care and to get them their medical attention that they need quickly. “
The t-shirt information can be filled in with a fabric marker or they will print one in vinyl for no extra charge.
