A Midland ISD employee, Santiago “Jimmy” Zepeda III, 25, was arrested around 11:20 a.m. Wednesday morning and charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child.

MISD did not specify his position, but the district’s website listed him as a band director at Midland Lee Freshman High School.  MISD officials said Zepeda was placed on administrative leave.

Midland Police said Zepeda was charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child.

Police said a juvenile boy made an outcry that Zepeda sexually assaulted him “repeatedly over the course of four years.”

Police also said that “There may have been similar incidents” involving Zepeda.

Anyone with information was asked to call the MPD at 432-685-7108.

“Hopefully they fire him and he goes to jail,” said parent Rachel Pearson.  Pearson said she was even considering taking her child out of Lee Freshman.

A grandparent, Margi Martrinez, said, “It kind of makes you think, ‘Okay, I’m going to be more alert and see what’s going on and talk to our kids more.”
