Rock Solid Athletics is a family friendly gymnastics gym that aims to promote excellence in sports and life. They start as toddlers with mom and tot classes and go all the way up to high school gymnastics. Even Texas Tech Gymnastics works out there. They also offer dance, karate, a new ninja class, and an after school program.
This 43,000 Square Foot building has two full size competition floors, multiple beams, bars and three dance studios. They believe that you should be able to raise a child and be able to teach them respect for others, respect for themselves and their body through teaching them skills. Owner, Craig Barker said that gymnastics has the ability to teach kids more than the skills they learn in the gym.
“Many of the skills they learn are not easy. When they try them the first time, they are going to fail,” Barker said.
The folks at Rock Solid make sure that safety is the number one priority. They have deep foam pits, and the gym is covered in gym mats. Barker said they aim to make the gym feel like home.
“They may not be with us forever, but we want them to remember this as a place where they learned to take care of themselves, take care of their friends and build some real character,” Barker said.
