The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) seized 190 pounds of marijuana and almost 13 pounds of cocaine Friday after a Texas Highway Patrol Trooper stopped a vehicle in Carson County.
At approximately 3:30 p.m., a DPS Trooper stopped a 2016 Toyota Sienna traveling east on IH-40 near Conway for a traffic violation. A DPS canine unit was called to the scene and alerted on the vehicle. The Trooper then discovered several plastic-wrapped packages of marijuana and cocaine in the rear floorboard area. The marijuana is worth approximately $1.15 million, and the cocaine is worth approximately $787,000.
The driver, Irvin McNeal, 39, and passenger, Richard Brown, 34, both of Danville, Ill., were arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana and felony possession of a controlled substance. McNeal and Brown were transported and booked into the Carson County jail.
The drugs allegedly were being transported from Phoenix to Danville, Ill.
