It was nice to see the sunshine in the area, but, of course the wind had to be blowing. We will see the wind sustained at 15-25 mph today, with gusts reaching 35-45 mph at times. Otherwise, skies will be sunny & highs will be way up above average. Lubbock will top out at 71° this afternoon.
A weak system will pass to the north. All this will really accomplish is dropping highs back down closer to average by the afternoon. Skies will stay sunny on Tuesday, the wind will be sustained at 30-35 mph in the afternoon, gusting to 50 mph. Lubbock will get to a high of 60°. However, it will feel cooler with that wind blowing all afternoon long. So, be ready to have a jacket, just for comfort.
