Families exploring their educational options can stop by Harmony Science Academy this weekend for its National School Choice Week open house. This event is open to the public and will be held noon Saturday, January 21, 2017 on campus at 1516 53rd St. Parents can tour the school and speak with administrators on how to apply for enrollment their children. Open enrollment is taking place now through February 10.
Harmony Science Academy is a public charter school serving grades Pre-K through 8 with an average student enrollment of 350. Each student is admitted to the school through a blind lottery.
This event begins the school’s participation in National School Choice Week. Harmony students will have additional school activities throughout the week. Harmony is one of more than 13,000 schools participating in National School Choice Week (January 22–28, 2017). The goal of the week is to shine a positive spotlight on all types of education options for children—from traditional public schools to public charter schools, magnet schools, private schools, online learning and homeschooling.
“We are thrilled to have Harmony Science Academy participate in National School Choice Week by holding these special events,” said Andrew Campanella, National School Choice Week president. “The Week provides an opportunity for families in communities across America to discover more about the education options available to children.”
