Mark Walkberg, Kevin Bacon and John Goodman star in Patriots Day. It tells the story of the Boston Marathon terror attack, the search for the suspects, and the grasp of courage to overcome tragedy. Getting generally good reviews, the rated-R thriller runs more than two hours. You can catch it at Alamo Drafthouse and all other Lubbock theaters.
The Bye Bye Man is sure to keep you checking underneath your bed. A group of college students tempts yet another scary urban legend… but, of course, they find out — too late — that the terrifying tales are true. It’s rated PG-13 and runs right at an hour-and-a-half. You can dig your nails into the person next to you at Premiere or either Cinemark.
It’s the last weekend for Tarzan, by Lubbock Moonlight Musicals. The Disney show is based on the film, and the show ends the classic tale with a twist. Phil Collins wrote the music and lyrics and it’s fun for the whole family. There is a Friday night show, a Saturday night show and a matinee, and a final Sunday matinee this weekend. Tickets range from $25 to $71, and you can get them through Select-a-Seat.
