A man was found with multiple stab wounds on Christmas Day prompting an investigation by Big Spring Police.

Officers responded to reports of a stabbing at 11th and Birdwell around 7:25 p.m. Sunday, a news release stated.
When officers arrived, they found the victim, Armando Avina, with multiple stab wounds.

Avina was transported to Scenic Mountain Medical Center and then later taken to Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.

While scene investigating this crime, officers were also called the the 1400 block of Wood on a suspicious activity call.

Big Spring Police said  say someone had entered a vehicle in the area and was caught by residents.

Authorities said this suspicious activity could be linked to the stabbing.
