Registering for your new baby can be overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be.

Chelsie Turner, manager at My Cup of Tea Baby in Lubbock, says there are a lot of do’s and don’ts when it comes to registering.

Turner recommends parents come in 3-4 weeks before your baby shower to register.

“That’s going to ensure that we have the most stuff that you’re going to love,” Turner explains.

Turner also suggests bringing 1-2 people with you when you register.

“Bringing too many people in it gets a little crowded,” Turner says. “We want you to just feel comfortable and not feel overwhelmed and pick out the things you love the most. Just come to have fun and don’t stress out about it.”

Turner says the biggest mistake parents-to-be make is stressing too much over the registry.

She says it’s best to try not to get overwhelmed by everything and have fun.

Another tip?

Register for things you’ll need for your baby down the road.

You’ll need different things when the baby is 6 months or even a year old so add that to the registry too.
