Lubbock Police said two men robbed an Uber Driver at gunpoint early Friday morning in the 1200 block of North Chicago.
Police said, “An Uber driver … was parked in the area waiting for a potential customer needing a ride. Two males with masks covering half their faces approached his vehicle.”
“Suspect 1 pointed a gun at him and told him to get out of the vehicle,” police also said. “Once out of the vehicle, the suspect demanded money. After going through the victim’s wallet and vehicle, the suspects realized he did not have any money.”
Police said the assailants smashed his phone and threw his keys into a nearby cotton field. Then they left through an alley north of Marshall Street.
The robbery happened at 1:45 a.m., but police said there was a one-hour delay in calling 911.
