It’s another cold start to the day, as temperatures have dropped down into the upper 20s across the area, with low 20s to the northwest. Today is going to be relatively warm, at least compared to average & compared to the highs as of late. The average high for today is 55° & Lubbock will reach 56°. The wind will increase this afternoon to 15-20 mph, ahead of a strong cold front which moves in tonight.
That strong cold front will drop down the coldest air of the season. Lows will plummet in our west & northwestern counties by tomorrow morning. Expect lows to be between 11°-15° close to the state line, with low 20s elsewhere. The clouds will be present as some weak moisture will hang around. Don’t be surprised if there are some light snow flurries flying in the air tomorrow morning. By the afternoon, skies will remain mostly cloudy, with a high of only 33° in Lubbock, with highs in the upper 20s to the west & northwest.
