The Roosevelt County Chamber of Commerce announced that the 2016 Christmas Light Parade and downtown Jubilee has been rescheduled for Friday, Dec. 9 due to weather concerns.
“With the forecast calling for rain and wind chills in the low 20s before parade time the Chamber wants to err on the side of caution and reschedule for next week,” said Chamber Executive Director Karl Terry. “We have a lot of small children in the parade and on the street watching and we don’t want them wet with freezing temperatures in the forecast.
The parade will begin on Dec. 9 at 6:30 p.m. at the Portales Rec Center and travel to Ave. D, then to Second Street and around the courthouse square and disbanding at C&S Inc. parking lot. Those already registered with an entry do not need to re-register.
