All smokers are at risk for heart attack, but a new study suggested younger ones may be especially vulnerable. Research in the journal Heart showed smokers under age of 50 had more than eight times the risk of a major heart attack as non-smokers.
Certain types of exercise could help you avoid dying. A new study in the British Journal of Sports Medicine looked at surveys on more than 80,000 adults. Researchers found swimming, racquet sports, and aerobics were linked to the best odds of putting off death from any cause and from heart disease and stroke.
Another reason Americans should get more sleep : a new report found lack of sleep among workers in the U.S. cost the economy up to $411 billion a year. Researchers said lower productivity and higher risk of death from sleep deprivation have a big impact on the economy.
