Amarillo Police arrested Alania Carol Houser, 31, for aggravated assault, but police described the situation as a homicide.

APD said officers responded to the report of a stabbing in the 3700 block of Lenwood Drive in the early morning hours of Thanksgiving.

“Responding officers were able to look through a window and saw an injured male on the kitchen floor,” APD said.  “A female was kneeling over him.”

Police said Josh T. Houser, 35, was suffering from a single stab wound in his left shoulder. He was taken to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

“Investigators determined that Houser stabbed her husband with a kitchen knife during a domestic disturbance,” APD said. “Investigators are still working to establish all the circumstances surrounding the incident.”

Houser was booked into the Randall County Jail.
