Texas Tech knew exactly what they needed to do to make a bowl game, but the Red Raiders provided another let down in a season full of them with a 66-10 loss to Iowa State.

After the game a somber Kliff Kingsbury didn’t know what to blame the performance on,

“No I thought they practiced well I thought they understood what we were trying to accomplish this week and trying to win the last two games to get us into a bowl game we just didn’t show up at all.”

The offense was non existent on a cold day at Jack Trice Stadium, Patrick Mahomes only threw for 219 yards and one touchdown.

The Cyclones offense gashed the Tech defense for 608 yards. Quarterback Joel Lanning rushed for 117 yards and five touchdowns.

Jacob Park beat the Red Raiders through the air with 285 yards passing and two TD’s.

After the game Coach Kingsbury was asked about his future with the program,

“I don’t harp on that or think of that during the season. I’ve been thinking about winning the next two games.”

Although the question may not be on his mind, the whispers will certainly get louder after this performance.
