The Texas Tech Lady Raiders scored 90 points for the second-straight game, but that wasn’t enough as they dropped a hard-fought battle to No. 24 Texas A&M, 98-90, in overtime Thursday evening.
 
The Lady Raiders shot 55 percent from the field and the three-point line, topping the Aggies who only shot 46 percent from the field and 35 percent behind the arc.
 
The lead changed possessions 22 times throughout the game and the Lady Raiders held a lead over Texas A&M for 13:54. The Lady Raiders also scored 16 points off eight Aggie turnovers.
 
Freshman Arella Guirantes hit a jumper at the buzzer to tie the game 83-83 and force overtime. But, Texas A&M went on to score 15 points in OT to claim the 98-90 win.
 
Two Lady Raiders scored 20+ points. Sophomore Recee’ Caldwell scored 38 points of the Lady Raiders 90 points. She became the first Lady Raider to score 35+ points since Alesha Robertson scored 37 points against Miami (12/6/04). Junior Jada Terry recorded her first double-double as a Lady Raider with 24 points and 11 rebounds. Guirantes followed with 17 points of her own.
 
The Lady Raiders return home to the United Supermarkets Arena as they host New Mexico on Sunday at 2 p.m.
