At about 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Lubbock Police say pickup truck crashed into a house on the 7000 block of Oxford Avenue. The location is near the Quaker Avenue exit at South Loop 289.
LPD said Warren Finch was driving a 2008 Ford F-150 heading west on 4300 South Loop when he was exiting onto the the service road and lost control of his vehicle.
Finch collided with the guardrail then struck a fence and drove into the Barrera’s house.
Barrera said her husband and son were in the home at the time and were not hurt.
“I come in and my whole kitchen is gone,” Barrera said. “I mean I don’t understand how it happened but I’m just thankful that my husband and my son are ok. Nobody got hurt.”
LPD said Finch suffered moderate injuries and was taken to UMC.
“My whole kitchen, my cabinets, kitchen sink,” Barrera said. “There was water coming in through my living room.”
Barrera added they will stay with family tonight until they figure out how to get their home fixed.
