The reward for missing Sul Ross student Zuzu Verk has been increased to $200,000, according to a release from the Alpine Police Department.

Verk was last seen on Oct. 12. Since being reported missing volunteers and multiple law enforcement agencies have been searching for her. Drones have also been deployed during the search.

On Friday, investigators began searching the Odessa Landfill however, it is unclear what they turned up.

Authorities have only one suspect in the case; Zuzu’s boyfriend Robert Fabian. However, Fabian’s sister and his mother have been named persons of interest in the case as well.

Brewster County Sheriff Ronny Dodson said Fabian has not been cooperative in the case although his lawyer, Liz Rogers, says that is not the case.

“He is distraught over the disappearance of Zuzu as is everyone in our community…he has cooperated with the Texas Rangers and local law enforcement, we are in the process of conducting our own investigation and we fervently pray that Zuzu will be found alive and well.” said Rogers.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Alpine Police Department at 432-837-3486.
