The Big Spring Police Department is investigating after two armed robberies were reported Monday night and Tuesday morning.

At about 11:20 p.m.Monday night, police were called to the Best Western Hotel in the 900 block of N. Lamesa Highway.

Officers spoke to a man who said two Hispanic man with bandanas over their faces approached him, pointed a gun at him and demanded his wallet, according to a release.

Police say the suspects then took the victims vehicle and fled the scene. The vehicle was later found, fully engulfed in flames on W. 1st Street and Brown around 12:36 a.m., according to the release.

Around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday officers were called to another robbery at the Post Officer, 501 S. Main.

The victim told officers that two Hispanic men approached her, pointed a gun at her and demanded she get out of her car, according to the release.

The suspects then took the victims vehicle and fled the scene, according to police. The second vehicle was reportedly located at about 3:20 a.m. Tuesday in the 1500 block of Sycamore and Wood.
