The Texas Tech Lady Raiders protected their undefeated home streak with a 70-65 victory over Oklahoma State Sunday afternoon.
It was a constant battle as the Cowgirls (11-2, 1-1) took a 31-30 lead into the half. But, the Lady Raiders (9-4, 1-1) missed only one shot in the final period of the game and scored 24 points to seal their first Big 12 win of the season.
The Lady Raiders took advantage of a 9-0 run in the fourth quarter to gain the lead for the final time. Texas Tech shot 90 percent from the floor (9-10) and went 3-for-3 from beyond the arc in the final period.
Three Lady Raiders scored in double-figures. Two or more players have scored 10+ points in 12 of the 13 games played this season.
Sophomore Recee’ Caldwell led the team with 20 points, her second straight 20-point game of the season. Freshman Brittany Brewer followed with 14 points and nine rebounds as she went 6-for-8 from the field. Freshman Arella Guirantes scored 10 points, marking her ninth double-digit game of the season.
