Parents in Crosby County are upset after they discovered an Instagram account Thursday morning with indirect threats made towards the Ralls Jack Rabbits and Crosbyton Chiefs football game Friday night.

The name on the account is morson_theclown and the biography reads ‘Die or die. Texas is nice. Blood is nicer.’

Ralls Independent School District Superintendent, Chris Wade, said he and the Crosbyton I.S.D. superintendent are aware of the threats. He said they are conducting their own investigation, but they have also handed over the information to local law enforcement; including the Crosby County Sheriff’s Office.

There are only two photos on the profile. The first simply asks ‘Are you ready?’ in black and white. The second photo states ‘See you on Friday Crosbyton and Ralls.’ What is more concerning is the emojis that accompany the second photo, a knife and a lollipop.

District officials think the account was made to stir up trouble before this week’s football game.

“Crosby county championship game,” Wade said. “Huge rivalry.”

Wade said the threats do not seem credible but both schools will remain cautious this weekend.

“It was through Instagram and it was dealing with the whole clown issues that are going on right now,” Wade said. “And it wasn’t a direct threat, staff and students are safe.”
