A new website shows auto thefts are up in Lubbock. 

Raids Online takes crime statistics from local police departments and allows website users to track crime in their area. 

Wednesday we did a search on auto thefts and found out there have been 116 vehicle thefts in Lubbock since September 1st. 

There have been 368 thefts since July 1st. That number is up from the same time last year. About 30 thefts higher. 

While crime is increasing, Raids Online is breaking down other crime trends, like what times and days cars are most stolen. 

A map of Lubbock County shows thefts happen most in central Lubbock, inside Loop 289. Crime trends also show thieves are busiest in the middle of the night and surprisingly like to steal cars on Tuesdays. 

The South Plains Auto Task Force with a few tips on how to prevent crime: lock you car, take your valuables and park in a well lit area.
