The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is scheduled make a change to the traffic pattern on FM 1730 (Slide Road) tomorrow, Thursday, Sept. 22.
Beginning after the morning rush hour, crews will switch all Slide Road traffic, between 114th Street and FM 1585, onto the southbound lanes. Traffic will continue to remain in one-lane in each direction.
The traffic move will allow contractor Allen Butler Construction to place the final road surface on the northbound Slide Road lanes.
Also beginning tomorrow, westbound FM 1585, at Slide Road, will be shifted onto the far north lane to allow for work to continue between the east and westbound lanes. Motorists are urged to slow down, pay attention and keep an eye out for workers and construction equipment working and moving in close proximately to traffic.
The work is part of a $14.1 million project to completely rebuild the existing roadway from a two-lane roadway to a seven-lane, curb and gutter thoroughfare. Project limits are 98th Street to FM 1585.
The traffic changes and work will take place weather permitting.
