A new study has found bipolar teenagers are at a higher risk of risky behaviors later on. Doctors at Massachusetts General Hospital for Children said bipolar adolescents are 34% more likely to abuse drugs and alcohol five years after they’re diagnosed. Those teenagers are also 22% more likely to smoke.
The American Heart Association has reported that younger heart attack survivors may face a premature death from heart disease. According to new research, the risk for heart attack patients 50-years-old and younger is almost twice as high as the general population. But researchers stress that overall the risk of premature death after a heart attack has dropped significantly.
New research has shown dentists are less likely to prescribe antibiotics if they get feedback on their prescriptions. The study looked at about 800 dentists in the United Kingdom and found those who received a report that detailed their prescriptions wrote about 5% fewer prescriptions.
