By now, everyone has probably gotten that annoying call from someone claiming to be with the IRS, demanding money or threatening to sue, but have you ever received a call threatening that they would hurt you and your family?

That was the case for the Solis family.

Over the last few weeks, they’ve been getting the same call over and over. They felt from the get-go it was simply a scam, but their concerns grew once the threats  started becoming more violent.

“He [IRS scammer] goes, ‘no this is the IRS, this is Agent White, and I said, ‘well if this is Agent White then I’m Agent Brown.’ I said you know, and that’s when he got really ugly. And he started to say well, ‘I’m going to cut your feet off, I’m going to come to your house,” shared Matt Solis.

Threats were also made toward his wife, Erin.

“It was just insane, how violent it was, it just really shocked us and took us by surprise,” said Erin Solis.

The family was still feeling certain that it was a scam, but were unsure just how serious it might be. For some reassurance, they also contacted Homeland Security as well as the Texas Attorney General to make sure they had nothing to worry about.

“It’s just people sitting with nothing else to do,” said Mrs. Solis on the IRS scammers.
