The first week of August was a busy one for Claire Williams and Briley Fleitman. Both women are Texas Tech students who have undergone wish granter training through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The two put that training to good use earlier this month when they pulled off two wish reveals in just two days.

On Thursday, they met wish kid Ramsey Stevens at a Lubbock ice cream shop. Stevens had wished to go to London but because of uncontrollable circumstances, Fleitman said she had been waiting since 2014 to learn whether her wish would be granted.

“She wanted to go to the London Eye, that was one of the main things,” Fleitman said.

It was a long time coming when Fleitman and Williams confirmed to Stevens that her wish would finally be coming true. In fact, she was scheduled to leave for the UK only a few days after her reveal.

“She is so excited,” said Fleitman.

The day after Stevens’ wish reveal, Williams and Fleitman spent the afternoon with Keelyn Phelps, who had wished to meet his favorite superhero.

“He definitely chose Spiderman and then he wanted to meet him so (yeah) we told Make-A-Wish and here we are,” Williams explained.

The two surprised Phelps with shaved ice and the news that he’d be headed to Universal Studios in Florida the following weekend.

“He was really just speechless and opened his mouth in awe,” Williams said.
