Around 3 a.m. Tuesday, Lubbock Police officers were called to investigate a stabbing in the 2600 block of Avenue Q.
According to LPD, they were called to the 7-Eleven near 26th and Avenue Q , where they found 27 year old Joel Smith, who had been stabbed.
Police said Smith told officers that he was at the park in the 2400 block of Avenue Q, when he got into a fight with a female, who threatened to stab him. According to police, Smith told them that a male suspect then stabbed him.
Smith then walked to the nearby store, where he asked for help and he was taken by EMS to University Medical Center with moderate injuries.
Lubbock Police officers did not make any arrests as of 8:30 Tuesday morning, and ask anyone with information to call Crime Line at (806)741-1000.
