We had another round of relatively shot-lived thunderstorms push through the southwest & southern portions of the area yesterday evening. All reporting sites, including the official site at the airport, saw 0.00″ of rain. It did appear that Wolfforth saw some light rain in the evening. Today is shaping up to be sunny & drier. The wind will stay light this afternoon, as Lubbock will reach a high of 97°. I wouldn’t be surprised to see some triple digits in the Rolling Plains.

Friday is going to be a dry day. There will be those fair-weather cumulus clouds passing through in the afternoon. Otherwise, the warm weather will stay with us as high pressure returns to the region. High temperatures will be in the upper 90s for most of the area, with triple digits in some spots of the Rolling Plains. Late tomorrow night, generally after midnight, some spotty storms will pass through from north to south.
