The Lubbock Police Department reports a man was shot Sunday morning in Central Lubbock.
The shooting occurred in the 3400 block of Nashville Avenue around 6:00 a.m.
Officers responded to the scene after a report of shots fired at the location. A male victim was found at the location by officers with a gunshot wound. Officers applied pressure to the wound until EMS arrived.
The victim, identified as Joshua Schwartz, 30, was taken to University Medical Center by EMS ambulance.
Lubbock Police reported there was no update on Schwartz’s condition as of Sunday evening.
A Person Crimes callout was conducted. Police said they believe this was not a random assault and the victim was specifically targeted. There is no suspect at this time.
