Well, we saw another round of thunderstorms move through the area on Wednesday afternoon & evening. Those storm seven knocked out power across Lubbock. We will see more, isolated, storms this afternoon. Otherwise, things will be mostly sunny, with a high of 105° in Lubbock. That would break the record of 103°, set in 1998. We also tied the record high on Wednesday of 105°.

Tomorrow will see a few different things in the forecast. Clouds will be on the increase, especially in the central & western counties. We’ll still get to 100° in Lubbock. However, coverage of thunderstorms is going to increase to 30%, especially from 2:00-7:00 pm. These storms will have gusty wind, up to 55 mph & frequent lightning. The central counties are looking good to see measurable rain tomorrow.
