The Lubbock Police Department reports one person stabbed at a Northwest Lubbock restaurant early Monday morning.
The incident occurred at I Love Pho, located in the 400 block of Slide Road, around 2:00 a.m.
Lubbock Police told EverythingLubbock.com employees were having an anniversary party in the restaurant after-hours.
The suspect, who is the boyfriend of one of the attendees, entered the business and started arguing with a a female individual. The two other individuals stepped in to protect her and asked the suspect to leave.
Police said the suspect then produced a knife and began to struggle with the first victim. Fearing for the safety of all involved, the second victim grabbed a knife from the kitchen and stabbed the suspect to defend the first victim from being assaulted.
The suspect attempted to flee but collapsed outside the business near his vehicle. The suspect was transported to UMC with life threatening injuries and was admitted. The suspect was released pending the filing of charges.
Members of the Investigations Bureau were called out to the restaurant.
