The Texas Department of Public Safety released information Wednesday morning concerning the death of an 82-year-old woman in an accident along Wicker Road, 11 miles east of Gail. DPS identified her as Alla Friday Kelley of Sealy.
DPS said a pickup truck driven by Sandra Kay Friday, 63, of Sealy veered off the roadway and overturned late Tuesday morning. DPS said the driver was taken to University Medical Center in Lubbock with “non-incapacitating injuries.”
A 25-year-old passenger in the truck from Sealy was treated and released at the scene.
DPS said conditions were clear and dry. The speed limit was 75 miles per hour. No specific reason was given yet by DPS for the pickup to veer off the road.
