Today: Temperatures on this Wednesday will top out in the upper 90s under mostly sunny skies. Southwesterly winds will help steer warm air into the South Plains. With this heat, we also still have moisture in place, which could help fire up some storms this evening. Some storms have the potential to become severe with the main threats being small hail and gusty winds.

Tonight: Storms will clear up after midnight and we’ll be left with partly cloudy skies. Temperatures will stay mild in the lower 70s with winds from south 10-15 mph.

Extended: Conditions will stay hot for the rest of the week as a ridge of high pressure builds in. This will dry us out and crank up temperatures a bit. We’ll stay in the upper 90s on Thursday, but we’ll be back to the triple-digits on Friday and Saturday.
