A Lubbock man was arrested after he was chased by police near Interstate 27 Friday afternoon.
Paublo Reyes, 22, was booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center after leading police on a chase.
According to LPD, Reyes broke a window at the Carriage House Inn on Slaton Road Thursday night.
Someone at that location called for help when Reyes returned to the scene Friday, and when officers arrived, Reyes fled, said Lieutenant Ray Mendoza.
“They set up a pretty big containment, he broke the perimeter,” Mendoza said.
Mendoza said EMS was called to the scene as a precaution because Reyes was “pretty exhausted” after the foot pursuit. He said Reyes fell down an embankment near I-27 during the incident.
Police said the chase lasted approximately one hour, and covered about three quarters of a mile.
“That’s with him zigzagging through, and all the properties out there,” Mendoza said.
Mendoza also said an officer responding to the scene was involved in a minor crash, in which nobody was hurt.
According to jail records, Reyes was booked on charges of Evading Arrest, Failure to Control Speed, and multiple drug offenses.
