There are fewer & thinner clouds in the area to start off this Thursday. That is thanks to the fact that there were no showers, or storms in New Mexico. So, there were no clouds to blow over this way. Expect another mostly sunny afternoon in the South & Rolling Plains. The wind will increase to 15-20 mph, with Lubbock seeing a high of 92°. The air will be dry for most of the area, with the exception being the west & northwest counties.

Overnight, there will be isolated thunderstorms for 10% of the area. That is due to a disturbance that will stick around west Texas for a few days. The storms will stay in the western counties tonight, struggling to get to Lubbock. If they do make it here, the storms will be weaker with some moderate rain. Friday will be partly sunny, with more isolated thunderstorms. So, be prepared if you’re headed to the Super Regional baseball games Friday-Sunday. Keep an eye to the sky. Highs will be in the low 90s tomorrow, too.
