Family Promise of Lubbock is pleased to announce our annual spring community luncheon on May 12, 2016 at 11:45 at Second Baptist Church, 6109 Chicago Ave in Lubbock. This year’s  theme is “Planting The Seeds of Change”  and is generously sponsored by First Bank and Trust and McAlister’s Deli. This event is an opportunity to learn more about the mission of Family Promise and the impact it has on homeless families in our area. The luncheon is free to the public. Guests are invited to volunteer, donate or become involved in the mission of Family Promise.

Family Promise is a non-profit agency and the only organization on the South Plains that focuses on assisting homeless families with children attain self-sufficiency and secure housing. Since 1998, Family Promise has offered a hand up to over 610 families who want to leave the cycle of homelessness and dependency behind. While families are guests of Family Promise, the adults are required to secure a job, save 90% of their income to pay past debts and future deposits. Families in the program receive individualized case management services, transportation, childcare, and participate in life skill education opportunities such as budgeting and parenting classes.
