Bring mom this Sunday, May 8, to celebrate Mother’s Day at the Abilene Zoo. All mothers accompanied by a paying child, even grown children, will be admitted free. What’s more, the first 100 mothers through the gate will receive a flower for the occasion.

Spring is a time of birth in the park: Flamingos are building their nests, flowers are blooming, and tiny bunnies can be spied hopping around the park. The new howler monkey mother has her hands full with two youngsters, while other babies include prairie dogs, cavies and ducklings.

The Watering Hole will be open for al fresco dining — no reservations required!
