TxDOT is scheduled to extend lane closures along State Highway 207 to the overnight hours beginning Monday, May 2, and continuing through Monday, May 9.
“Beginning Monday, traffic on SH 207 will be down to one-lane, around the clock, with a pilot car guiding motorists through the construction zone,” said Kylan Francis, P.E., TxDOT Engineer and Project Manager. “We are already using this traffic control during the day, but wanted to make drivers aware that the closure would be extended overnight for the next week.”
The extended closures will allow contractor Allen Butler Construction, Inc., to complete the finish and place an all-weather road surface on this phase of construction. The $6.98 million project is making roadway improvements to more than 11 miles of SH 207 in Floyd County, from US 62/70 to FM 97 east.
“We also want to remind drivers that speed limits in the construction zone have been reduced to 60 mph on paved surfaces and 45 mph on non-paved surfaces.” Frances added.
The project’s completion date is scheduled for late-summer 2016.
