Low clouds are hanging on in the area to start off this Wednesday. There is some fog affecting travel to the northwest of Lubbock, so be careful should you run into any foggy areas. The clouds will clear this afternoon & mostly sunny skies will dominate the area. This will allow for highs to climb back into the mid 70s. Wind will be light, staying between 5-10 mph.
As a cold front approaches the area, showers & thunderstorms will develop in the panhandle. These will form a line & move south this evening & overnight. The storms are most likely to stay in the Rolling Plains, similar to last night. However, Lubbock County is on the fringe of the potential storm development. I will watch it this afternoon. Any storm will have heavy rain & large hail.
