Most middle-aged men and women who are prone to cardiovascular problems may benefit from a daily aspirin. A national task force is now urging potential heart patients between the ages of 50 and 69 without bleeding risks to consider taking a low-dose aspirin every day. They said it could prevent heart attack, stroke and colorectal cancer.

Researchers in Florida said that more than 40% of retired NFL players in a new study showed signs of traumatic brain injury. Advanced MRI scans also found the more years on the field, the higher the likelihood of brain injury.

Stanford scientists who tracked smokers discovered that they have a tougher time finding a job compared to non-smokers and earn substantially less when they do. But doctors said it is not clear whether the habit is a cause or result of the unemployment.
